SUMMARY:

This project consists of two 1-story classroom additions for a total of 20 instructional units and an additional 24,000 SF to the existing building. The addition will also include complete support spaces (administrative offices, resource classrooms, storage spaces, and restrooms). Upon completion, the building capacity will increase to 1,200 FTE (students), similar in size to Abney and Shelton elementary schools.

Construction of a new middle school • Located on property between Seven Hills Boulevard and Westbrook Creek Road and Garnet Drive in Northeast Paulding County • Currently in Design Phase and set to launch to Construction Phase in September 2022 • Includes 66 Instructional Units with a capacity of 1,050 FTE (students) per DoE Standards • Overall floor plan is 148,000 square feet • Includes general education and special education classroom spaces, Connection classrooms including Gym, Band, Choral, Art, World Language, and CTAE Computer Science and Engineering rooms, as well as media center and cafeteria with stage • Designed similarly to P. B. Ritch Middle School and Scoggins Middle School. • Intended to alleviate capacity issues specifically at McClure Middle School, but may also impact students currently assigned to Moses MS and East Paulding MS.
