Darius Hodge

Darius Hodge is beginning his 18th year as an educator. The 2024-2025 school year will be his 3rd year as Principal at Hiram High School (Paulding County, GA). Prior to his current position, Mr. Hodge began his teaching and coaching career at Westlake High School (Fulton County) where he served as a Health & Physical Education teacher, Head 9th Grade Football Coach and Assistant Basketball Coach for 2 years. In 2009, he was granted the opportunity to establish the Boys Basketball program at Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, GA, where he led his team to the GHSA Sweet 16 in the program’s 2nd year of existence. In 2012, Mr. Hodge transitioned to Hiram High School, where he received the opportunity to serve as teacher and head coach of the Boys Basketball program. Mr. Hodge took various roles while at Hiram High School, such as Special Education teacher, Health & Physical Education teacher and Online Facilitator, in conjunction with coaching. Additionally, Mr. Hodge served in a plethora of school leadership capacities, such as PBIS coordinator, and School Improvement committee member. In 2018, his team won the Region 7-5-A Championship along with advancing to the GHSA Final Four. In the fall of 2018, he transitioned into the role of school leadership as one of the Assistant Principals (CTAE) for Hiram High School.

Mr. Hodge is a native of Marietta, GA. He is a 2002 graduate of R.L. Osborne High School, Marietta, GA. Mr. Hodge received a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from Georgia State University in 2007. He received his Master of Science degree in Urban Teacher Leadership from Georgia State University in 2010. In 2017, he received his Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University. Mr. Hodge is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Hodge is an avid sports fan of everything Atlanta.  Mr. Hodge is married to Jamesa Hodge, Principal at Baggett Elementary School (Paulding County) and has 2 children, Madison (15) and Darius, Jr. (10).
