I began my exciting adventure in the field of teaching in 2002. I've taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. The first five years of my teaching experience was at Allgood Elementary and the rest of my experiences have been at Poole Elementary. I absolutely LOVE teaching my first grade babies! It is by far my favorite grade level to teach. My favorite subject is reading. I love to see their little faces light up as the children learn to read. I am a third generation teacher in my family. My grandmother taught first grade for many years in Atlanta Public Schools and my mom worked in Paulding County for years as a teacher and administrator in both middle schools and at the Paulding County Board of Education. My mom and grandmother are the ones who inspired my love of learning and teaching! Upon first visiting a school as an adult, I knew it was where I truly belonged, so after many years of being an "undecided" major in college, I finally found my niche.
When I'm not teaching, my favorite hobby is reading. I love to read books...any that I can get my hands on, and I read every free moment I get! I also spend lots of time with my family, which includes my husband and two beautiful girls!
I am truly convinced that I was born a teacher! I love my job and what I do, and most of all...I love the children I teach!
